Dogs of Nice, France and Lisbon, Portugal

So we sincerely apologise for a lack of blogging recently! We’ve been madly trying to get our website finished in time for pre-orders which will be starting soon! We also apologise for the delay in getting the photos from the last leg of our trip – Nice in the South of France and Lisbon in Portugal. Nice was absolutely beautiful. The bluest water we have ever seen! The Mediterranean sea is just to die for. We spent most of our time here lying on the beach and soaking up the sun before we had to head back to winter! We ate plenty of gelato too! There was a shop that sold 45 different flavours of gelato! Including savoury flavours like tomato and basil and olives. We stuck to our chocolates and sweet flavours! There were plenty of doggies in Nice. Remember that pug shirt that we bought in Berlin? Well, it caught the eye of a very lovely French woman when we were in Nice. She came running across the road calling after us, pointed to our shirt and then down to her gorgeous little pug dog! I was so happy! I picked the pug up and she licked my face. I was covered in pug slobber and was so happy! We were here on Bastille Day too, which was lucky. We got to watch some beautiful fireworks on the beach.

Lisbon was amazing. What an amazing city. The ground is covered in hand laid marble mosaic! All around you can see the wealth that once was the World Empire. Portugal’s economy is still struggling severely however the people here are so friendly and easy going. We ate lots of “Pastis de nata” which is the Portuguese custard tart. This is by far the most delicious custard tart we have ever eaten! The custard was so eggy and the pastry was so crisp. Amazing. Not so many doggies here. It was extremely hot – about 40-45 degrees every day! So the doggies were probably either inside in the air conditioning or lazing in a pool somewhere. But we did spot a few. Sardines are very famous in Portugal and they just happen to be Rufio’s favourite food! So we bought a few tins and brought them home. He absolutely loved them! We hope you enjoy the pix!
